Our Edge Technologys Compute division, formerly Linode, consists of collaborative, inclusive, and creative teams. We develop applications and services to empower our customers. Our mission is to accelerate innovation by making cloud computing simple, scalable, affordable, and accessible to all. We design, develop, test and maintain products that run on our IaaS platform.

You will help lead… Linodes Kubernetes Engine (LKE) team and expand our LKE product. This expansion will manage thousands of Kubernetes clusters and include some large enterprises globally. With your Kubernetes expertise, you can design and amplify the scale and performance of LKE products. By doing this, it will help to meet the demands of those global enterprises.

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

Leading a team of developers implementing complex designs and partnering with other teams to coordinate system dependencies

Leading efforts to evolve LKE product/technology to attract new enterprises

Partnering with product management to understand and shape the product roadmap

Taking ownership for technical and product innovation, exercising design thinking, analyzing systems and developing solutions

Organizing and operating in an Agile environment to drive development activities

Focusing on team goals and building collaborative and effective working relationships through establishing commitments, accountability and trust

To be successful in this role you will:

Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field

Have 2 years of experience leading software development with 5+ team members

Have experience building with cloud native technologies and Kubernetes deployments at scale

Have experience with Container Runtimes (eg docker, containers, etc)

Demonstrate solid experience with Go, Python, or Bash

Be familiar with software development practices and product life cycles through build, test, deploy, and iterative environments
