    Responsibilities:

    Systems Engineering Role:

    Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.

    SE Manager role:

    Manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.

    Often heads one or more sections or a small department.

    Plans, conducts and supervises assignments, generally involving larger and more important projects or multiple projects.

    Evaluates and determines changes in methods or procedures in assigned area of responsibility.

    Determines candidates for employment/termination, conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff and is responsible for the application of company policies.

    Maintains care and feeding of assigned employees to ensure needs are meet and any assistance is provided.

    Program Desciption:

    This program provides SETA (Systems Engineering Technical Advisor) & SE&I (Systems Engineering & Integration) services to an IC customer with a focus on assured space communications and supporting IT infrastructure. The contract support is part of the customer core team focused on all aspects of the systems life cycle including conops development, capturing requirements, working with developers to deliver capability, testing to ensure capabilities meet requirements, transition to operations and operations support. The program also supports customer acquisition strategy, future technology development, modernization efforts, cyber and information assurance support.

    Qualifications:
    Required:

    10 to 12 years with BS or 8 to 10 years with MS or 5 to 7 years with a PHd.

    Technical BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree

    (4 years of relevant experience in an RF space communications development/acquisition program can be substituted)

    TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly

    Demonstrated ability to work with and lead a team of engineers

    Demonstrated success in working with government customers.

    Desired:

    Prior experience as a corporate manager of people.

    5 years of experience with Commercial/Government acquisition of satellite/ground segment hardware/software or satellite based special communications field set hardware/software.

    BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science.

    Prior experience as a SETA with NUO IC agency customer working with requirements and other related readiness processes.

    Prior experience with development of software and hardware systems.

    Prior experience with RF based satellite communications.

    Prior experience with digital signal processing.

    Prior agile development experience.
