Purpose of Position
This role serves as a technical leader for the Electrical Engineering function providing technical leadership, advisement, and guidance in the research, development, and commercialization of core products. This position manages engineers in the support of these efforts. This role is responsible for the day to day operations of Electrical Engineering and for the identification… and development of new electronic sensing technologies in support of the company���s strategic Plan.
Provide technical advisement and guidance to the company
Assists with allocation, budgeting, resource planning, and scheduling
Develop, deploy and improve the technology development processes and functions for the company
Maintain technical expertise through individual research, training, and personal development
Manage team in daily affairs, projects, and assignments
Mentor, train, and develop electrical and software engineering team
Actively manage department electrical engineering resources for projects and company initiatives
Design, develop, validate, and assist in production launch and sustaining of products
Generate requisite documentation (Reports, BOMs, Gerbers, Drawings, etc…)
Collaborate with other internal/external departments and customers to provide support, understand program/project requirements
Provide technical direction in troubleshooting, Failure Analysis, Root Cause, and Corrective Action processes
Support FBS initiatives
Manage various regulatory requirements (EMC, CE, UL etc.)
Creative in problem solving and global teamwork
Qualifications and Job Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
Master’s degree in engineering or related science is preferred.
5 - 8+ years of experience in engineering field
3+ years supervisory experience
Demonstrated work history of designing new products based on digital electronics platform in addition to support required to manage existing digital electronics based product platforms.
Solid understanding of firmware development (embedded C for ARM Cortex M micros)
Good experience with ARM/Keil MDK V5 toolchain (+ middleware components: Network, USB, Filesystem)
Use of RTOS in embedded systems (experience with Keil RTOS2 components preferred)
Trained to use supporting R&D tools like SVN, Jira & Miro (Agile techniques in R&D process)
Good skills in architectural design of embedded systems (digital core & mixed signal data acquisition etc.)
May be assigned various projects and responsibilities at the sole discretion of the Director of Engineering.
