    The Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for establishing a quality assurance system that includes an internal Quality Management System (QMS) and an external Supplier Quality Management System (SQMS) and driving tool quality improvement efforts that promote customer satisfaction. In this role, you will also develop and administer tool quality control plans, direct quality/product assurance efforts, internal policies/procedures, and supplier policies/procedures and control plans to meet and exceed customer expectations.

    Job Description

    • Lead the organization in driving an environment of never-ending quality improvement while maintaining focus on customer quality through the creation and implementation of a wholistic quality system comprised of an internal quality management system (QMS) and external supplier quality management system (SQMS)
    • Establish short and long-term vision and strategy for transformation and growth of the quality group
    • Lead and develop a team of highly functional quality professionals through structured coaching and matching outputs to strategic vision. The ideal candidate can foster an environment where the team feels respected, empowered, and aligned with the strategic vision of the business and embraces the core concepts of ITW culture.
    • Support the ITW 80/20 culture in all aspects including but not limited to Front-to-Back (FtB) business methodology and ITW toolbox initiatives
    • Champion quality initiatives and report global quality measurements to key stakeholders
    • Establish supplier quality requirements, verify quality plans and ensure supplier corrective actions are properly implemented
    • Proactively engage suppliers in order to ensure ongoing quality performance improvement
    • Identify, prioritize and lead the quality group in resolution of existing and potential quality problems
    • Partner with Key Stakeholder cross-functional groups to determine exposure/impact of quality problems as well as potential improvements
    • Identify, lead and develop talent to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness
    • Other duties as assigned


    • Bachelor degree required; Engineering or equivalent degree
    • At least 5 years of Quality Supervisory and/or Quality Manager experience
    • Demonstrated experience in setting QA standards, policies, and methodologies
    • Proven continuous improvement experience
    • Critical problem solving including analytical/root cause analysis skills
    • Successful team management experience-direct and cross-functional
    • Experience creating a Quality Management System (QMS) and Supplier Quality Management System (SQMS)
    • Up to 20% travel; domestic and international
