Meta is looking for a Software Engineering Manager, Wireless Platforms and Protocols

    Summary:

Meta Connectivity, as an organization, has pivoted this year to focus on metaverse-ready networks an industry-wide push to accelerate the evolution of connectivity to make Meta experiences amazing for everyone on the planet. It is widely recognized that the network is one of the major bottlenecks behind this huge disparity. We have recently launched workstreams and early-stage work at… Connectivity to start digging deeper into the heart of next-generation connectivity and networks that lie between our applications and devices and Meta infra. The Wireless Platforms and Protocols (WPP) team which is part of the Connectivity Infra SWE organization, is leading and participating in several efforts both in the wireless access as well as core network infrastructure that sits between the UEs (User Equipment) and infra and that is owned by our partners. We are working towards making those networks more robust, higher performing, better quality, and working with the industry as well as other Meta teams on key initiatives to address the bottlenecks and gaps in those networks. This role will be a ground-floor opportunity to help shape one or more of those workstreams with a long-term view to make large-scale impact for metaverse-ready networks. Managing and growing this team will require someone with a broad skill set ranging from WiFi controllers, Radio Access Networks (RAN) software stacks, embedded, data plane, control plane, mgmt systems and cloud software. Vision and adaptability are a must as you help drive these new projects toward production. Generally, we embrace entrepreneurs as well as those who come from more established organizations. Software Engineering Managers are clearly characterized by progressive technical experience and demonstrated progression in management responsibility. You have also kept your coding skills sharp and bring an unwavering passion for managing the dynamics of a fast-paced environment.
