    Moda Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager for our Web Application Development Team. In this role, you will direct the activities of multiple teams of skilled developers responsible to build, integrate, and support critical web-based systems serving both internal and external customers and business partners. Applications include online portals, sales and marketing tools, intranet collaboration, and customer support services. Directly reporting to this role are software engineering managers for each of the development teams. The development teams are comprised of a mix of software engineers focused on web technologies such as Java, .Net, JavaScript, Web Services, and Content Management Systems. You will collaborate with multiple business and IT stakeholders to determine and implement online solutions which support Moda Health’s goals.
    This is a remote position for candidates living or willing to relocate to one of the following States: AK, AZ, FL, ID, OR, TX, or WA.

      Primary Functions:
    • Oversees and coordinates activities of multiple web application development departments. Includes hiring, monitoring performance, training, coaching, and mentoring.
    • Provides guidance, estimates, and recommendations on system development, product purchases, applications, and services, to meet business needs.
    • Effectively communicate project status, project goals and milestones to all levels of internal staff and management as well as with vendors and external customers.
    • Continuously improves the team’s development and release processes incorporating into upcoming plans and product changes.
    • Ensures that staffing, processes, technology, tools, and management of development teams provide necessary levels of productivity, quality, and secure digital solutions.
    • Provides annual budget estimates and recommendations.
    • Assist IT leadership in establishing the technology direction of the department and solutions.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
      Desired Skills:
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in Computer Science or related field.
    • 10+ years’ experience programming or managing the development of digital applications using Java or .Net technologies.
    • Extensive understanding of web technologies, software engineering, and programming languages. Ability to keep current with, and leverage, emerging internet technologies.
    • Solid background in client/server programming and relational database systems.
    • Experience in healthcare, specifically health insurance and general understanding of business functions. Proven leadership abilities in an IT organization in driving operational and software best practices.
    • Outstanding analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
    • Experience in building complex, highly scalable, well performing, and secure software solutions.
    • Strong ability to negotiate, prioritize, determine project and product development tasks, and allocate resources.
    • Ability to work well under pressure, work with frequent interruptions, and shifting priorities.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and project a professional business image with both internal and external parties.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage customer escalations.
    • Willingness to work additional or non-standard hours when necessary.

      Pay Range $128,847.82 Annually to $148,179.24 Annually
