A Globally Leading Hedge Fund is looking for an experienced Python or C# Developer to take ownership as one of the founding engineers on a brand-new front office risk (PnL) platform. They have just heavily invested $10 million within this core team to revolutionize the Commodities trading space. The team is engaged in a multi-year effort to build next-generation commodities risk analytics systems, support business expansion through the modeling of new asset classes, and contribute to the overall growth of the firm with a specific focus on its commodities business.
The Role
Our client is seeking a passionate hands-on Python or C# Developer to lead a brand-new highly focussed team, driving the build-out of their brand-new front office risk platform. Full ownership of this project includes steering the technical direction that the team goes in. The completely greenfield project will underpin the entire firm’s trading process. This project requires expert Developers who are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, be effective communicators, have a strong ownership mentality with curiosity to learn new business and technology, and be self-driven.
Required
- 8+ years in object-oriented Python/C#
- Deep Expertise in Python, scalable design, data structure, algorithm, performance tuning and distributed systems
- Experience working on a firmwide risk system for commodities, rates, fixed income, or credit.
- Solid SQL/RDBMS experience
- A proponent of agile methods: continuous integration, code review, unit testing, refactoring, and related approaches.
Advantageous
- Knowledge of commodities market, financial derivatives, pricing and risk analytics
- Familiarity with large data warehouse technologies and data analysis using Excel is a plus
- Proficient working on both Linux and Windows platforms.
