    The goal of this position is to advance the benefits of MathWorks design automation software. Through skillful application of front-end and back-end technologies, you'll enable our users to craft amazing designs with minimum effort. You'll contribute to the design automation back-ends. You'll design and implement command line and graphical interfaces that are easy to learn and a pleasure to use. The software that you will develop will enable engineers around the world to bring their innovative designs to market with minimum effort and maximum enjoyment.

    Responsibilities

    You'll be a member of a close-knit software development team with a rich variety of talents across the design automation technology stack. The team is committed to delivering world-class design automation tools. The team is also passionate about increasing their productivity and bringing quality features to market at a strong pace. You'll need to be a great teammate that shares these values.

    Your primary role is designing, implementing, and testing software. You'll work to understand user needs, craft designs, and validate their usability. You'll work on architecting, implementing, and testing the software. Front-end work using JavaScript technologies will be a major portion of your work. You'll also work on the back-end services and functionality. You and your partners will bring the designs you've crafted to market with rigorous automated testing and outstanding quality.

    You will work to develop a strong understanding of the needs of MathWorks customers for design automation of embedded systems. You will use your expanding knowledge of customers and technology to take on greater responsibility for designs. Your aim is to be an innovator that drives the next generation of advancements in automated design of embedded and edge devices.

    Qualifications

    • A bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
    • Proficiency with JavaScript

    Additional Qualifications

    • Excellent software engineering fundamentals, software design, and user interface design skills
    • Experience developing UIs
    • Experience with scripting language such as MATLAB
