Critical Mass is looking for a Technology Lead (React)

As Technology Lead you’ll be tasked with delivering creative campaign centric projects. You’ll put your knowledge of HTML, CSS, React, JavaScript, Next.js, AI, Unreal/Unity, etc. to research and prototype new ideas before architecting the creative idea into an accessible, scalable, and performant web experience. You’ll collaborate closely with Creative, Project Delivery, QA, and DevOps team… members through each iteration of work, helping to push your project to the finish line. Previous leadership experience will be key to guiding & mentoring a small team of developers through day-to-day problems, as well as ensuring a high quality of work.

Job location: Costa Rica

You will:

  • Collaborate with the Technology Directors, Project Managers, Creative Leads and Account leads to design, develop and deliver digital marketing projects on digital platforms
  • Architect the technical solution designs for development and provide development estimates
  • Oversee the development process, ensure appropriate project standards are being followed and lead code reviews
  • Provide hands-on development support to project team where necessary
  • Collaborate iteratively with the Creative team, creating and adjusting prototypes accordingly
  • Provide mentorship for the development team
  • Rapid prototyping while delivering usable code
  • Work with multiple technologies - web, mobile native, game engines - to deliver functional prototypes
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and platforms
  • Contribute big ideas that answer creative briefs
  • Expand the size of the idea space of creative solutions by introducing novel technology solutions

You have:

  • 2+ years experience as a Tech Lead or in a comparable technology leadership role
  • Strong fundamental and practical knowledge of HTML, CSS, React, Next.js and JavaScript
  • A strong background or interest in learning about AI, AR, VR, XR, Unreal/Unity
  • A strong problem-solving, detail-oriented approach
  • Experience collaborating with Creative team members
  • Experience managing development and delivery of commercial websites
  • Familiarity with website operations on a high traffic website
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools and development pipelines
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite of tools - JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc
  • Experience with enterprise-grade content management platforms such Adobe Experience Manager is a "nice to have" skill
  • Experience with GraphQL is a "nice to have" skill
