In this leadership role, you will be at the intersection of data science, machine learning, and the telecommunications domain. You will work synergistically with a cross-functional team that includes data engineers, machine learning engineers, and domain experts. Your expertise will guide the utilization of leading-edge machine learning (ML)/AI methodologies, such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, and natural language processing. You will analyze complex, large-scale datasets to extract valuable insights, helping to translate those into actionable strategies. Through your advanced technical knowledge and telecommunications industry understanding, you will play a pivotal role in the innovation of products and services that aim to augment customer satisfaction and stimulate growth within the industry. This role requires an adept data scientist with a deep understanding of machine learning and a knack for leveraging this expertise to drive significant business impact.

    Work Responsibilities:

    • Direct the conceptualization, development, and deployment of advanced ML and GenAI algorithms, models, and techniques to comprehend and address customer challenges, enhancing the overall customer experience across various touchpoints, including virtual assistants.
    • Utilize cutting-edge ML and GenAI methodologies to derive insights from a vast array of customer interactions, including calls, chat logs, and social media engagements, thereby facilitating data-driven decision-making and enriching overall customer satisfaction.
    • Architect and oversee the creation of ML and GenAI solutions that arm call center agents with the tools to better serve our customer base.
    • Harness large-scale customer data, identifying patterns, trends, and insights that contribute to the enhancement of digital containment and issue resolution rates.
    • Infuse efficient engineering methodologies to optimize the performance of generative AI models and to augment their applications in customer experience solutions.
    • Command the end-to-end execution of GenAI initiatives, ensuring adherence to timelines and maintaining a high standard of quality.
    • Lead cross-functional collaborations with teams such as product managers, engineers, and customer service personnel to ascertain requirements and translate them into scalable GenAI solutions.
      �� Predict potential risks and obstacles associated with GenAI projects, proactively formulating strategies for their mitigation.
    • Uphold compliance with all pertinent ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements in the development and deployment of GenAI technologies.
    • Create and foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices across the organization.
    • Stay up to date on the latest advancements in NLP, conversational AI, GenAI, and customer experience technologies, and apply them to refine our solutions.
    • Cultivate relationships with external partners and research organizations to leverage state-of-the-art techniques and technologies in NLP, GenAI, and customer experience domains.
    • Present findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and effective manner, both verbally and through written reports or presentations.
    • Mentor and lead junior data scientists, fostering their professional development and encouraging their contribution to projects. Provide technical leadership and guidance, encouraging best practices in data science and promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

    Technical Requirements:

    • A minimum of 8 years of proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing ML models and algorithms, encompassing both supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
    • Expertise in Python, as evidenced by mastery of state-of-the-art ML libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, NLTK, Spacy, and Scikit Learn.
    • Demonstrable experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and a deep understanding of its latest advancements.
    • Solid grasp of the latest GenAI techniques and algorithms, with a track record of applying them in practical settings.
    • Experience with traditional computer vision techniques and its related libraries, with the ability to integrate it with other machine learning solutions.
    • Hands-on experience with leading cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or an equivalent, and the ability to leverage them for deploying scalable ML solutions.
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proven track record of tackling complex challenges and delivering impactful solutions.
    • Experience in mentoring and providing leadership to junior data scientists.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical ideas and results to non-technical stakeholders in written and verbal form.

    Our Principal-Data Scientist earn between $155,400 - $233,200. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
