Position Overview:
This position will work closely with the manufacturing facilities on production engineering, capital projects and troubleshooting to support our production processes. Specific responsibilities include the following:
Design of Electrical Systems, Management of the installation, testing and hands on commissioning of the installations
Developing full documentation package of new equipment purchases and existing equipment installation
Continued support of new installations and plants until production efficiencies and goals are met
Specifying of electrical materials, soliciting of quotations and working with the purchasing department to procure materials required to support the installation
Developing scope of work, identifying qualified contractors, soliciting bids to same and selecting the best qualified by cost and ability
Work with corporate purchasing requirements to request and receive purchase orders for equipment and suppliers
Support plants and personnel as required to identify production problems or issues, identify viable solutions and implement the same
Manage time and project costs to ensure on time completion within budget
Manage various electrical upgrades of process equipment and system towards obsolescence /safety and operation support in all CAPP division lines.
HMI integration with new and existing installations
Ethernet VFD control design and implementation
Develop job completion schedules and monitor their progress of the projects
Provide and coordinate appropriate training for plant personnel
Mentor and coach technical staff and engineers
Provide operational troubleshooting and problem solving
Coordinate new equipment installation and line trials
Coordinate and take part in manufacturing audits
Provide appropriate customer support
Job Requirements
Requirements include the following:
The ideal candidate will have a BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering along with a minimum of 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing/process environment
Experience in a rigid packaging manufacturing environment would be ideal
Understanding of National Electrical Code rules and requirements, PLC system design, configuration, Installation, programming and troubleshooting; Allen Bradley preferred, in addition, Siemens or other major brand experience would be beneficial
This position requires the ability to manage a project as well as the ability to become involved in a “hands-on” capacity. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects at one time
This position also requires strong computer and design skills as well as a proven track record in managing major projects both individually and in a team environment
A certification in Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing would be a plus
Also required are effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide, support and train plant electrical teams.
Strong skills in all aspects of Microsoft Office. AutoCAD proficiency is required
