General Summary:
The Production Engineering Manager provides leadership of Manufacturing Engineering Design and Planning, Configuration and Product Support activities at Honda Aircraft. The Production Engineering Manager ensures harmonization of processes between groups and provides leadership to ensure milestones and program requirements are completed according to the company schedule… Assignments will have a strong emphasis on the development, coordination and execution of cross functional projects that impact all aspects of aircraft development and sustainment, both technical and business related.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Effectively lead and direct the activities of the Manufacturing Engineering Design and Planning, Configuration and Product Support activities for the Honda Aircraft Company HA420 to meet company goals.
Effectively plan and direct the activities of the Production Engineering organization in the development of new concepts and innovative manufacturing processes.
Oversee the development of well devised manufacturing methods and procedures
Support company objectives and goals in terms of safety, quality, production, delivery and cost.
Initiate and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the production line and facility.
Participate in the development of capital planning and budget development to support Manufacturing operations.
Provide technical and strategic leadership to Honda Aircraft Company in the identification and prioritization of projects and routine tasks.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
B.S.M.E., B.S.A.E., B.S.I.E., or B.S. Mfg. Eng./ Eng. Tech. required, M.S. a plus
8 years Production Engineering/technical leadership experience, preferably in the aerospace industry.
Experience in composite and metallic drilling, assembly, electrical harness and avionics installations, and Functional Testing.
Knowledgeable in creating and maintaining planning documentation and configuration control.
Knowledgeable in GD&T, ASME Certification a plus
Experience in managing mid to large size projects.
Experience in development of departmental budgets and manpower estimates.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must possess strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D drawings/models and technical specifications
Ability to develop summary graphs, tables, pivot tables and other reports utilizing PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Knowledge of configuration management
Ability to communicate complex problems simply
Strong analytical skills
Ability to identify, evaluate and develop solutions to complex problems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to communicate and work in a team environment to solve problems with all levels of employees
CATIA V5/ V6 experience is a plus.
SAP experience is a plus.
Teamcenter experience a plus.
Strong computer skills with knowledge in MS Office applications
Physical Requirements:

Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
