Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Ruby Developer to develop and support custom applications. The right person would become part of an elite team of other talented software developers assigned to work on various project teams at NBC Universal.
This is a full-time position - possible remote from EST, CST, MST zones only

Major Responsibilities
Understand our client's fast-moving business requirements
Negotiate appropriate solutions with multiple stake-holders
Write and maintain complex, mission-critical software
Deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software; contribute technically to projects
Support and troubleshoot issues (process and system) related and implements sustainable corrective actions
Identify new opportunities, tools, and services to enhance the custom software platform
Serve as a subject matter expert in software development
Some travel required
Desired Skills and Experience
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in any discipline
Minimum 5 years Java experience with notable accomplishments
Ruby, jRuby or Ruby on Rails required
Strong JavaScript skills
Java coding skills a plus
Knowledge of SQL and JDBC
Experience developing with at least one major JavaScript library (examples include: jQuery, Angular, D3, Bower, Grunt or Sencha ExtJS
Basic understanding of network infrastructure and services required
Strong team-building, vendor and customer relations skills
Desired Skills & Experience:
Experience writing single-page JavaScript applications a plus
Knowledge of web services a strong plus
Familiarity with media files a plus
CSS, SASS, JSP's and User Interface Design a plus
Experience with Mobile Web projects is a plus
