Description:The Strategic Product Support (SPS) Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) team is enabling and implementing AI/ML and data analytics solutions across Lockheed Martin's Training and Logistics Solutions market segment. The team is looking for an AI/ML Engineer Staff to drive research and development efforts across the Training and Logistics domain.

Responsibilities:
Assumes technical leadership responsibilities, ensures standard methodologies, takes ownership of critical tasks, and mentors junior engineers
Serves as the algorithm expert with up-to-date knowledge on modern AI/ML research and be involved in the end to end process, from the inception of ideas to delivery and maintenance of a solution
Strategizes, architects, and authors contract/proposal processes for internal R&D and formal production programs
Focuses on development of technologies that enable artificial intelligence and machine learning in the Training and Logistics domain
Develops end-to-end AI/ML pipelines necessary to transform existing applications and business processes into modern, robust systems
Investigates and applies the latest machine learning and deep learning techniques
Optimizes the performance of AI algorithms, applications, and platforms
Develops and documents algorithm and implementation requirements
Interfaces with other multi-disciplinary teams involved the development lifecycle
Basic Qualifications:
BS in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science/Engineering, Math, Physics, or other science related discipline with course work in AI/ML
9+ years of relevant professional experience
Strong experience with Python scripting and object-oriented development
Strong experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning
Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, and/or scikit-learn
Desired Skills:
Experience with pathfinding, AI movement and behaviors, and solving complex vehicle AI navigation/route planning/etc.
Experience with cloud computing platforms or services (AWS, Domino, Azure, etc.)
Experience with DevSecOps tools and practices
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles
Experience acting as a Subject Matter Expert
Demonstrated strong problem solving skills and business acumen
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex design information, technical decisions, and issues to both highly technical and non-technical stakeholders
Demonstrated project management skills
MS in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science/Engineering, Math, Physics, or other science related discipline with a focus / thesis in AI/ML

Ability to Work Remotely:Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules:Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position:4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
