Responsibilities
The Division of Informatics in the Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN invites applications for an AI Scientist position within our clinical support team. We are currently in the process of recruiting candidates for the administrative and operational structures required to support discovery to practice. The goal of the initiative is to place Mayo Clinic at the vanguard of the Artificial Intelligence field with Radiology being an early opportunity area.
Qualified individuals should possess a Ph.D. in a scientific field with experience in developing and writing advanced computational algorithms. A strong background in medical informatics, machine learning, and scientific programming is required. Successful candidate with have demonstrated a track record of managing all aspects of an experimental research project, including coordination, data acquisition and analysis, software development, documentation, as well as postproduction monitoring. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage teams of scientists and other healthcare professionals are essential.
Established publication record of innovative work related to artificial intelligence in top computer science journals and conference proceedings is preferred. Experience of supervising/mentoring students at bachelor, master, or PhD level is a plus.
A successful candidate should have a strong interest in the following topics: fundamental machine learning, neural network architecture, artificial intelligence, graph neural networks, scalable learning, interpretable learning, artificial intelligence for bioimaging, fairness and bias in AI, Human-in-loop ML/AI.
Specific innovation areas of interest for this position include support for Department of Radiology Artificial Intelligence projects. The successful candidate will join a team charged to facilitate and optimize the discovery, translation and application of artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning supporting the mission of Mayo Clinic Radiology.
This position is limited tenure, with anticipation for renewal annually. You will have the opportunity to grow your career, and potentially move into a ongoing position with Mayo Clinic.

Qualifications
Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field with special emphasis on computer science and programming skills; Board Certification or eligibility is encouraged.
