This role is for Alternative Risks, specifically working on GenevaRe and Ryan Alternative Risks Projects that support Finance, Reinsurance, Claims and other business units. This integrates Policy and Claim data from our Program Managers to our financial systems through cloud/data solutions.
Looking for Python, AWS, SQL and Data Analytics skills.

Newly hired full-time associates at higher job levels may receive additional paid time off. You will also receive 8 hours of Lifetime paid time off and 8 hours of Unity Day paid time off. As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you’ll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.
- Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
- Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
- Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.
May Perform Other Responsibilities As Assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.
Typical Skills And Experiences
Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
