We're looking for a data engineering manager who can create a strong vision and viable roadmap as well as build and lead a diverse team of world-class data engineers, analytics engineers and data analysts. In this role you will partner with data science, software engineers and business leaders to scale business intelligence for Netflix’s entire financial ecosystem. You will help the team overcome technical challenges that come with the ever-increasing volume and complexity of our productions -- all while maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of our financial data.
What will you do?
- Provide technical vision and strategy for building a data ecosystem that enables Netflix to leverage data around finance within cross-functional teams
- Build strong relationships across business, science, analytics, and engineering partners
- Balance immediate stakeholder needs vs longer term vision
- Lead a dream team of data engineers, analytics engineers and data analysts to execute a shared vision between analytics, engineering and business partners
- Grow and mentor this team through thoughtful observation and courageous, honest feedback
- Build a secure and robust data ecosystem for the entire Netflix’s financial ecosystem
About you
- You are an experienced data manager with hiring and leading high-caliber, data-focused teams with diverse technical strengths
- Mentorship / Guidance: You have a proven track record of managing a large successful team. You know that the most important part of your job is setting the team up for success. Through mentoring, teaching, and reviewing, you help other engineers make sound architectural decisions, improve their code quality, and get out of their comfort zone.
- Execution: You care tremendously about execution and feature velocity. You hold yourself personally accountable, jumping in and taking ownership of problems that might not even be in your team's scope.
