As an Engineering Manager, you'll plan, organize, direct and control the activities and operations of the engineering department.
What you'll do:
- Manage the Engineering Department Staff to effectively support the business through new product development, production support, preventative and corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives and MRB.
- Perform cost analysis for existing products and new product opportunities as provided by the Sales Team. Review new product development opportunities to determine feasibility and risk analysis.
- Manage the implementation of capital projects for equipment associated with new product opportunities.
- Perform and/or provide training for Operations Team Members and Engineering Staff to support operator development and new process integration.
- Troubleshoot production issues associated with processes and equipment and implement solutions using internal and external resources.
- Manage and support cost savings initiatives across the plant.
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Operations and Quality to determine root cause and corrective action on all internal and external non-conformances and warranty issues.
- Provide leadership and support for the facility Continuous Improvement programs, including PXP, SPC and various customer focused programs.
- Use lean manufacturing experience and process management skills to identify and implement continuous improvement activities
- Develop and implement uniform standards and reporting processes for all Continuous Improvement activities
- Support and enforce all plant safety requirements and policies
What skills you will use:
- 3 or more years of direct experience working in an Engineering-related function, preferably with leadership/management responsibility.
- Demonstrated skills in Six Sigma, SPC, interpretation of customer drawings and specifications, and employee training procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, vendors/suppliers and customers on Engineering technical matters.
- Mature project management skills required.
- Knowledge of and development of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Lean Champion Certification or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt is a Plus
- Problem solving skills/Root Cause Analysis
- Experience in Facilitation/Coaching/Teaching
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
