    Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Leader to build a team responsible for process, quality, equipment parametrization, safety & throughput in order to ramp up, sustain, and improve new production lines for our advanced Body Shop manufacturing equipment

    The Process Engineering Manager will work with cross-functional teams throughout the entire lifecycle of the product and processes. They will work closely with Design Engineering, Equipment engineering, Production, Manufacturing, NPI and Quality teams to scale up and meet full mass production volume.

    What You’ll Do

    • Responsible for all Process and accurate information to drive activities in the shop with high impact
    • Ability to lead technical groups with diverse talent such as Process, Controls, Robotics and Industrial Engineers
    • Lead the team to establish and improve manufacturing processes, including estimated standard times and optimize headcount
    • Lead the team to develop process documentation and ensure it is kept current e.g., manufacturing instructions, standard work documents, PFMEA, control plans, equipment backups, software revision control
    • Lead the team to establish and improve equipment maintenance processes, including preventative inspection, corrective repairs, and overhaul planning/execution
    • Lead your team to utilize SPC data and tools to characterize all equipment processes for operating limits, robustness, and action limits
    • Lead the team to develop and enable data driven operational and financial decisions through predictive insights into tool and process performance, including integration of factory data systems and use of software such as MySQL, Python, R, JMP, Tableau and Ignition
    • Lead and drive the team for continuous improvement projects and standardization to support best in class lean manufacturing systems to maximize yield, capacity, and capability
    • Lead the team to generate and execute business improvement ideas for cost reduction, labor savings, material flow and safety improvements
    • Lead the team to develop, manage, and improve changes within Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and line side visualization to improve productivity
    • Lead supporting activities for engineering, maintenance, and manufacturing including 5S and Lean manufacturing activities, material handling improvements, production line configuration, and safety procedures

    What You’ll Bring

    • BS/MS in Engineering or Physical Science related field preferred or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
    • 5+ years of experience managing an engineering team
    • 10+ years of experience in a production environment as process or automation engineer (process development/improvement, troubleshooting, data analysis, constraint analysis, flow optimization)
    • High-volume and high-speed manufacturing experience in Automotive or Semiconductor industries preferred
    • Capable of identifying critical process parameters and applying statistics to process measurement and control
    • Proven understanding of BOMs, manufacturability, process design, process validation, assembly methods, design reviews and cost reduction methodologies
    • Preferred data collection and analysis experience in a high-volume automated manufacturing environment
    • Previous experience with MySQL, Python, R, JMP, Minitab, Tableau, and Ignition, PLC, Robotics
