    Job Summary: The Assistant Research Professional should show evidence of competence in the disciplinary area of the position and demonstrated promise of moving towards excellence in professional leadership, practice, and/or research and scholarly activities as appropriate for the position. As directed, individuals in this track level independently contribute to the planning and design of research and creative projects. He/she performs supporting research and creative activities such as data analysis, monitoring outcomes, performing lab maintenance, and/or performing experiments and creating creative projects. May assist in both short-term and long-term planning and project goals, as well as in research and creative proposals and dissemination of project findings.     Additional Department Summary: This is an open submission process for all persons applying for a research position within the College at The University of Alabama. Persons holding these positions are to conduct research with various faculty members on a variety of projects. Positions are non-tenure earning staff positions.

    The University of Alabama seeks applications for Assistant, Associate, and Research Professional Candidates. Successful candidates are expected to develop and sustain sponsored research programs and seek and obtain external funding to partially support the specific research program within the College.

    Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree or higher.

    Skills and Knowledge: Ability to develop and sustain a high quality externally funded research program. Effective communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree or higher, preferably in statistics/biostatistics, math, public health, operations management or another quantitative program, or a related field. The combination of experience in data analysis and any master's degree will be considered.
